Judge Steele
What a
coincidence that Judge Steele's passing occured during African American History Month. He has displayed the attributes of
a true African American hero.

The city of Dallas mourns the passing of Cleophas
Steele, Jr. who was a prominent figure in the local judicial system. More specifically, the South Dallas community shares intimate ties with its native son Judge Steele. Even
more specifically, the Lincoln High School alumni stand tall in recognizing a great
role model for generations past, present, and future. We are deeply proud to have walked the same hallowed halls
and have sat at the feet of the same teachers as our fellow alum Judge Steele. Judge Steele (Class of 1963) is one of many reasons we cherish the education and nurturing we received from our alma
mater. Lincoln has produced outstanding musicians, educators, attorneys, athletes, etc who have captured national
and international acclaim. Judge Steele is no exception. Yes, something good can come out of South
We the Class of 1971 express our love and sincerest sympathy
to our classmate Basil Steele (Judge Steele's youngest brother), Brenda, and the entire family. May God provide them comfort during their dark days
and hope for brighter days.
